Chanoine are one of the oldest champagne houses - being founded in 1730, since producing both vintage and non-vintage cuvee as well as an extra dry series of wines known as Tsarine.

The first Tsarine cuve was bottled at the beginning of the 19th century and was dedicated to the Russian imperial dynasty, ruling Russia at the time and which was the main market for sparkling wines since the preceding century.
