Chartogne TailletIn 1870 Oscar Chartogne moved to Merfy and acquired his first plots of vines. 50 years later his granddaughter Marie married tienne Taillet, joining the two families. Chartogne-Taillet is still a family owned business.
The wine is produced exclusively from grapes grown in the familys 11 hectares of vineyards in Merfy and the neighbouring Saint-Thierry and Chenay.
The wines then spend 3 to 6 years (instead of the legal minimum of 15 months) on the lees before the remuage by hand.
